Lean on our Expertise

Reducing emissions from refrigerants and related equipment can be a challenge without the right resources. Especially when we need to reduce those emissions to zero.

Our Refrigerant Inventory and Leak Management services help you understand what quantities you have in your care, and importantly what they emit or can potentially emit if not handled correctly.

Our Advisory Services complement these and give you the clear and concise advice needed for complete life cycle management and emissions reductions

We’ve helped our clients address these common Questions and Challenges.

  • What are the best options for dealing with refrigerants at end-of-life?

  • How do I build up the capabilities and knowledge of my employees & contractors to deal with refrigerants?

  • Should I include Scope 3 refrigerant emissions from my supply chain?

  • How can I reduce the energy-related emissions from my refrigeration or cooling equipment?

  • How do I decide on replacement or alternative refrigerants with so many options out there?

  • What are the local regulations regarding refrigerants and how do I ensure my company complies with current and pending regulations?

  • How can I align my cooling, refrigeration, heating with net-zero / SBTi targets?

Compliance & Target Setting.

Reducing emissions and determining what targets and pathways are realistic can be difficult. At Veridien we have the capabilities and experience to guide you through the process. We work together with all the stakeholders to develop clear and actionable steps to both set targets and deliver on them.

If you need to provide plans for refrigerant compliance we can help you develop them. Whether it is record keeping requirements, disposal and treatment of refrigerants or safety - a compliance plan is often the first place to start.

We continuously monitor global best-practice to ensure you get the most up-to-date advice. This reduces risk exposure and helps future-proof projects especially where large financial investments are involved.

Our services include:

  • Interim target development to deliver real-zero emission pathways

  • Third party assessments of company GHG reports & inventories

  • Offsetting considerations (see our SBTi aligned policy on offsets here)

  • Development of Refrigerant Compliance Plans

  • One-on-one consultation (one-off enquiries)

Refrigerant & Technology Selection Advice.

There are lots of claims in the market and often it is confusing when it comes to choosing alternative refrigerants or technologies. Safety, global warming potential and costs are just some of the consideration along with many others.

At Veridien we have developed the tools and methodology to help you - based on your specific needs and what you are trying to achieve. We take your existing refrigerant and equipment inventories and assess them for opportunities and provide specifics on what needs to be done.

Because we are independent -we are not trying to sell refrigerant or equipment - we are uniquely positioned to offer impartial advice that benefits you

What we deliver:

  • Map of your existing inventories against different refrigerant options and the corresponding emissions reductions

  • Impartial case-studies from industry

  • Advice on future availability of refrigerants based on regulatory forecasts and outlooks

  • One-on-one personal advice

Reducing Energy Emissions.

Refrigerant management done properly often leads to better equipment performance and less energy use. As a lot of energy is still fossil-based this means Refrigeration and Air-conditioning produces both Scope 2 emissions from Energy and Scope 1 from the leaked refrigerant.

Knowing which equipment is leaking, how much is leaking and how long it takes to repair can drive better decisions and allocation of resources. Leaking equipment can significantly increase the energy use and can lead to component failures and additional maintenance.

Our experience and partnership with Energy Efficiency specialists Teale means we can deliver a total solution that reduces emissions and costs not just from Refrigerant but also the Energy use. We advise on the best use of technology for the continuous monitoring and analysis of refrigeration systems to catch problems early, mitigate leaks and energy use.

One of the best strategies for reducing overall emissions is to reduce the cooling load and the need for cooling. Whether as part of the design process or retrofits - reducing the need means smaller equipment leading to less refrigerant and energy use. We provide experienced guidance and strategies for optimising energy performance and design of monitoring and analytics solutions. Contact us below for more information

Training and Capacity Building.

Part of our Mission is to build awareness around the issues surrounding refrigerants. As more organisations grapple with the challenges of reporting emissions and managing risks there is a greater need than ever to allocate staff and resources to the task.

To support those efforts we provide various training solutions both in-person and remote. We are constantly developing training modules and we currently offer the following:

  • Refrigerant Life-Cycle Management (1 Day courses)

  • Introduction to Leak Mitigation and Detection Technologies (1/2 Day Courses)

  • Introduction to Refrigerant Inventories and Emissions Reporting (1/2 Day Courses)

We can also develop bespoke training solutions to meet specific needs. Please contact us directly for more details.
